Busy days

It has been a busy couple of months around here and I haven't gotten any blogging done all summer. We have been working most days on our remodel project on the old building in Lusk. We wanted to get as much as possible done before Dave started back to driving school bus. Hopefully in another week I will have some pictures to post of the outside of the building showing pretty much how it is going to look. The inside is another story - nothing but demolition has happened inside so far. That is our winter project.

Last week we went to a Rockies game in Denver with Mel, Justin and kids, Harold and Carol, and Alisa. Here are a few pictures from that trip.

Amy was most excited about getting some cotton candy. Is there anything quite so fun as cotton candy? (Whether you are a kid or a grown up!)

It was Alisa's 19th birthday - we enjoyed spending the day and night with her.

What do you think these red things are? I bet you said tomatoes! That is what we thought they were, too. Until one day we went out into the garden and one had hatched in the night. Here is what we found on our tomato plant:

We haven't eaten it yet, but I bet when we do it will taste like chicken!
Our turtle eggs are still keeping us in suspense. The minimum two months has passed so they could be hatching...or they could wait for a couple more months, or until next spring. Or maybe they won't hatch at all. My curiousity gets so strong sometimes that I want to open up an egg to see if there is a baby turtle in it. But then I think if there were one and I killed it by opening it up too early, I would feel pretty bad. So - we are just waiting and watching. The day I look in the box and see something wiggling around, I will probably yelp!
