After a busy summer, things are starting to settle down a bit. I decided I would try starting a blog - so far my experimenting with it has not been entirely successful. Maybe with practice it will get better! I have managed to erase my entire post once, then the next time it seemed to disappear into thin air... we will see if I can successfully manage to get something on where you can see pictures of what has been going on around here.
Dave has been busy all summer working mostly on getting the exterior of the house finished - siding, gutters, etc. Except for a little caulking, it is done now. There were lots of little details I would have just left as they were, but he was diligent to get the job completed! You can see from the pictures a little further on down the page that there has been great improvement. We can't call it the "pink house" any more, as all the pink has been covered up. (Well, we left just a tiny bit of pink up under one eve for a reminder of how it used to look!)
Glenn got in on helping Dave with the siding project.

how it looked a year ago.

Yeah! Will be fun to keep up this way. Its terrible we're so close and yet so far away. Your home turned out sooo welcoming and comfortable and pretty. You should both be very proud. Hugs, Mars

The blog looks great! I have wondered several times if you would start a blog! It's a fun way to keep in touch. When you emailed the house pictures a while ago, I couldn't get them to open, so it was fun to see those.

Looking very successful so far! How fun to keep up! Now I just need to set aside the big reserve for "blog" time! :) LW

Will add my applause too for a great start for your blog. Will look forward to keeping up with all that is new and nice there now! The before and afters are quite a contrast. Don't know what it is like to lose that much hard work on a blog into thin air, but thanks for persevering.
