This little guy was the first one to come out of his shell. It took him awhile to get completely out, but once he did, he was ready to go! For about the first half hour he seemed to be in constant motion - head butting the other eggs, climbing over them, not the most graceful, but really checking out his surroundings. We decided we had better put him in a separate container from the other turtles that either are trying to hatch or are still eggs - as he was playing pretty rough! He now is at home all by himself in a 10-gallon aquarium (no water yet). It looks pretty lonely in there all by himself - but maybe there will be another one out of the egg by morning to join him (if it is a him!)

Karen,
Thanks for posting these videos. The boys have watched them over and over again this morning. They love it. Hazy is even saying "Turdle." That is the way it sounds. :)
This is so fascinating! Thanks for sharing your turtle nursery updates with us! I can't wait to show this to the kids, and we'll be anxious for the next update. I wonder if they'll all start and you'll get several in a day?
